Keszthely, the town of Festetics, is a small town with a beautiful civic center on the west coast, a pedestrian zone, 3 beaches on Lake Balaton, a conference center, a theater, more than 15 museums and a permanent population of 19,000.

You won't get bored in the city because of its many cultural monuments, and in addition to the monuments mentioned so far, about 15 city museums are exhibited under our menu item "Bad weather".

Not only in the city, but also in the surrounding area we are waiting for everyone from 0 to 100 years old with many sights, entertainment and quality accommodation and restaurants!

The central element of active summer recreation is the City Beach, the largest beach in Keszthely and with the most services. Through the pavilion, the road leads to a beach with a giant slide and Balaton-shaped adventure pool, WaterPlay - Park built in 2021, EU-compliant children's playground and sun loungers, where you can play volleyball, basketball and badminton several dishes.

The beach area acts as a fun promenade in the summer evenings, and you can enjoy summer evenings right on the shore of Lake Balaton with concerts in many different styles!

The beach of Helikon is located on the outskirts of the city - in memory of the old days - we can enjoy sunbathing on 19,000 m2, the nostalgic happy place since the 70s, volleyball, badminton, soccer and of course beach chess A flaming water bike.

As the center of the western Lake Balaton, Keszthely is an excellent star hiking center, because within its 30 km radius you can find all the cultural, natural, spa and entertainment opportunities that will stimulate your eyes and mouth.

What to visit:

  • Hévíz (7.5 km): In Hévíz, the largest thermal lake in Europe awaits you in winter as well as in summer, which has been curing joint and rheumatic diseases for 200 years, but is also unique in its natural beauty.
  • Zalakaros (33 km): The famous Granite Spa and Thermal Bath is located in one of the smallest towns in the country, next to Kis-Balaton and the Buffalo Reserve.
  • Kehidakustány (21 km): The village, famous for its thermal water, has put all its services at the service of tourism, with the natural beauties of the valley of the river Zala.
  • The beautiful lookout tower in Balatongyörök (7.5 km): Every day we can see Lake Balaton, Tapolca Basin, Badacsony, Szigliget and Szent György Hill, one of the most beautiful panoramas in the world!
  • The Africa Museum in Balatonederics (13 km): Even in bad weather it is a great program for young and old to collect material from the "natural wonder" Africa collected since 1944, but camel rides, pony rides and animal feeding are also possible.
  • Kis-Balaton Nature Reserve (19.5 km): Uncle Matula's cottage and the unique bird life and the buffalo sanctuary are the main attractions of the nature reserve, which is accessible and pleasant for all ages.
